NTUA Zographou Campus The Laboratory of Polymer Technology is located in the School of Chemical Engineering building, at the NTUA Campus in Zographou, Athens (Iroon Polytexneiou 9, 15780 Zographou, Athens, Greece). It extends to the following areas:


The Laboratory possesses all the necessary infrastructure to support research projects on polymerization processes as well as on polymer modification and processing. Especially, polymerization equipment involves: stainless steel polymerization reactors; Solid state polymerization reactor; Polymerization glass reactors equipped with proper systems for stirring and heating.

Polymer modification and processing equipment involves: Dry and internal mixers; Single- and twin-screw extruder; Thermoforming equipment; Injection molding machine; Grinders.

Finally, there is suitable equipment for polymer characterization. Indicatively: FTIR-ATR analysis, UV-vis analysis, HPLC, GC; Instrument for mechanical performance; Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA); Potentiometric titrator for end group analysis; Melt rheology for MFR determination; Capillary viscometers for polymer solution viscometry; Brookfield viscometry.
